Phone Message 8/19/18

Good afternoon to all of our Deep Creek Families.  This is Assistant Principal, Mr. Vernon, with announcements for the upcoming week.  Last week was our first full week and it was a great week.  Thank you to our students and families for making it go smoothly.  It's going to be a fantastic year.  This Tuesday, August 21st is our first Spirit Night of the year.  The Dairy Queen on Kings Highway is sponsoring our night and is donating 15% of all sales back to our school.  So stop by Dairy Queen between 6 - 9PM on Tuesday.  As always attendance is very important to us at Deep Creek.  Our goal this year is to have an average daily attendance over 96.5%.  We know emergencies do arise, but make sure students know the importance of being in school All Day Every Day.  We will not have a phone message next weekend, so I will remind you now that there is no school on Tuesday, August 28th due to the Primary Election.  Thank you for listening and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  I'll see our Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Cubs tomorrow morning.

Phone Message 8/15/8

Good afternoon Cub Families. This is Assistant Principal, James Vernon.  I am calling to let all of our families know that we conducted a practice Code Red Drill at our school this morning at 9:10am.  A Code Red is when we immediately place the whole school in a complete lock down and all classroom doors are locked.  In order to be prepared for any emergency that could possibly arise, we will be conducting these Code Red Drills monthly.  A call won't be issued for every drill that we conduct each month, but we wanted to contact you on the first drill in case questions did arise when your children returned home this afternoon.   Remember during the remainder of the school year we won't issue these calls for every drill, but you can use planners or an email to your child's teacher for questions. Your child's safety is always important to us and we want to make sure we are prepared for an actual emergency.  Just to clarify one more time, today's Code Red Lock Down was a drill and all of our students are safe and happy in their classrooms.  We hope that you have a great day.  At Deep Creek our Cubs are Ready, Responsible, and Respectful.

DCES Phone Call 08/12/18

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families! This is Principal McElroy reminding all our parents that any time you come on campus you MUST have your photo ID. Any student who is picked up through the parent pick up will need to have a car tag. If you do not have a car tag, you must park and walk in with your photo ID. There are no exceptions to this rule. During rainy day dismissal, all walkers are released through parent pick up so you must either have a car tag or go into the office with your photo ID. It is the rainy season so please be prepared. Our parent pick up line is very long so I encourage you to use our bus system if you are eligible for a bus. These procedures are written in your child's planner in the family handbook section. Also, you may contact the office for information. It was a great first day for our 1st -5th graders and we look forward to seeing our kindergarten students on Monday.  Friday is our Summer Slide celebration so please make sure your child turned it in to their classroom teacher. At Deep Creek our Cubs are Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Leaders.
