Phone Message 3/28/18

Good evening, I apologize for the Wednesday evening interruption, but want to send one more invitation to our families for tomorrow's Teddy Bear Picnic.  Even though tomorrow is not a Friday, students can wear their Deep Creek Spirit Shirts and regular uniform bottoms.  We wish all of our Cubs and their families a fun and safe spring break.  School will resume on Monday, April 9th.  Have a great evening.

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy inviting you to our annual Teddy Bear Picnic on Thursday, March 29th beginning at 11:00am. It will begin with a celebration of your child's learning and science fair project in the classroom then progress to a family picnic lunch in the courtyard. We hope each of our Cubs have someone special to sit with during the picnic. All activities will conclude at 12:30pm.  We have a silent basket auction and bake sale occuring during the event. Please make sure you RSVP for the event. Our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser concludes this week with all monies due on Tuesday. Spring Break begins on Friday, March 30th with school resuming on Monday, April 9th. I hope all our Cubs rest and relax so they can do their best for the last quarter of the school year. Good Evening Deep Creek Families this is Principal McElroy with some important announcements.  Safety is a priority for us and I want to make you aware of an upcoming event. Schools across the nation are planning activities at their campus on Wednesday, March 14th to honor the memories of the students and staff at Stoneman Douglas High School. March 14th will mark exactly one month from when the tragic events took place. The Deep Creek School Family is planning to remember this event with a moment of silence at 10am on Wednesday, March 14th. This activity was planned with the input from our staff and families. It is very important to note that our number one goal is to remember and honor the memories of those individuals that lost their lives while doing so in a way that keeps your child safe and secure. As a school principal, I am expecting all students who wish to participate in this activity to be able to do so in a manner that keeps them safe. Students will not be allowed to leave the school building for any reason, such as in a walk-out, that puts them in a potentially unsafe situation. As always, we appreciate your support. On another note, please remember that snacks sent to school should be healthy and water bottles should only contain WATER. All other liquids can cause stains and attract ants. Our Jump Rope for Heart Event kicks off this week so please look for the information packet that is coming home with your child. Tuesday evening from 5-8pm we are hosting a spirit night at the McDonald's on Peachland and we hope to see you there. It is so nice for our Cubs to see their friends outside of school at our spirit nights and help our local businesses. Thank you again for your support. At Deep Creek, our Cubs are Ready, Responsible, and Respectful leaders.
