Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families this is Principal McElroy with a few important reminders for the next two weeks. Tuesday, Aug. 30th and next Monday Sept. 5th there is no school for students. These dates are in the calendar section of your child's planner as well. Thursday, Sept. 1st is picture day. It is a uniform day as all students will be photographed for the yearbook. Please follow all uniform guidelines. I would like to invite all our families to our first SAC/PTO meeting of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 6th at 5:30pm in our media center. Our PTO would like to thank all our families for their contributions to the donation drive. Our Watch Dog event was a huge success so don't forget to visit the Volunteer Spot on our website to sign up for a day. Good afternoon to all of our Cub Families, this is Assistant Principal, Mr. Vernon letting everyone know what is coming up for the week. On Tuesday, August 23rd we are having our annual Watch D.O.G Pizza night. We invite all of our students to bring their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or any other male role model to our cafeteria from 5:30 - 6:30pm.  We will have pizza and a brief presentation on how you can become a Watch D.O.G and be a role model on our campus.  Also on Tuesday, all families will be receiving a bright yellow paper that will be sent home with students.  This paper will have your child's FOCUS information where you will gain access to check classroom grades, attendance, and Standardized test scores.   Last, I"m very excited to announce that our Family Reading Center will open before school this Wednesday, August 24th.  We invite all our families to stop in and check out a book, the Reading Center will be open from 7:35am - 8:00am.  Thank you all for listening, I am looking forward to another great week with our Cubs, who definitely have started off the school year Ready, Responsible, and Respectful.  Have a good night.

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families, this is Principal McElroy. On behalf of all of us at DCES, we would like to thank you for a fantastic first week. We hope all our Cubs have a restful weekend and are ready to learn on Monday. I just want to let you that there is a family handbook and calendar in the front of your child's planner. It is full of lots of great information about our procedures. Our Cubs looked awesome this week in their uniforms. As a reminder, our solid color collared shirt colors must be blue, yellow, white, black, or pink. Uniform bottoms must be neat fitting khaki or navy. Fridays are school spirit days so students may wear a Deep Creek tshirt with the approved uniform bottoms.  If you have any questions or concerns, please check with your child's teacher or call the office. Good Afternoon Deep Creek Family, this is Principal McElroy welcoming you to the 2016-2017 school year. We are eager for our students to start learning and leading with us. Monday night is our community expo and open house from 4-6pm for grades 1-5. Also, grades 1-5 students will begin on Wednesday, August 10th. Kindergarten parents will receive a separate message with their information. Please remember we are now a uniform school. Check our website for uniform specifics and supply list information. We do request that you bring supplies with you to Open House to make Wednesday morning a little easier on our students. We do encourage beginning your child's normal routine of bus, walking, or parent drop off from the first day. This can cause confusion for children and parking is very difficult to find. Please DO NOT enter or park in our bus loop.

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Kindergarten Families, this is Principal McElroy welcoming you to the 2016-2017 school year. We are eager for our students to start learning and leading with us. Wednesday evening from 5-6pm is open house for kindergarten. Our kindergarten students will begin on Thursday, August 11th with morning announcements at 8:30am. All students should be in their seats ready to learn by 8:30am. Please remember we are now a uniform school. Check our website for uniform specifics and supply list information. We do request that you bring supplies with you to Open House to make Thursday morning a little easier on our students.  We do allow you to walk your child to class for the first two days only. Although, we do encourage beginning your child's normal routine of bus, walking, or parent pick up/drop off from the first day. Changes can cause confusion for children and parking is very difficult to find. Please DO NOT enter or park in our bus loop during school hours. We look forward to seeing all our Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Kinder Cubs Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
