Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families! This is Principal McElroy wishing you a wonderful holiday season. There are many exciting things happening over the next two weeks. Our Candy Cane Lane family night is Thursday, Dec. 10thbeginning at 5:30pm with shopping experiences, food, and an outdoor movie. The Candy Cane Lane store will be open from the 10th to the 17th and students will visit during their specials time. Also, our Cub Chorus will perform their holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 17th at 6:30pm. Please don't forget to have your child check lost and found because all items will be donated over the break. Good Evening Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy reminding everyone that we are hosting a Florida Department of Health flu shot clinic tomorrow, Friday, Dec., 4th. Your child will only receive a shot if they have a signed consent form. Also, our lost and found is overflowing. Please have your child check the lost and found for any missing items. Good afternoon to our Cub Families, this is Assistant Principal Mr. Vernon hoping you all had a great fall break and are excited to get back to school.  This Tuesday, December 1st is our PTO/SAC meeting, which starts at 5:30pm.  We also want you to save the dates for two winter activities at Deep Creek Elementary, December 10th is our Candy Cane Lane night where we will have shopping, a Christmas movie, and pictures with Santa and also December 17th as our Deep Creek chorus will be putting on their wonderful Christmas performance.  I'm looking forward to a great three weeks before winter break, Cubs please make sure you come back to school tomorrow ready to do your best, because we expect nothing less than your success. Good afternoon Deep Creek Families this is Assistant Principal Mr. Vernon with a few announcements for the upcoming week.  Within the next few days you will receive information about a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child's artistic achievement as well as help raise funds for our school. With this information will be a personalized catalog with your child's artwork that has been transformed into life time memories and gift ideas.  All orders must be returned no later than Nov. 18 to insure delivery in early December.  Also this Wednesday is our normal Family Reading Center day, but we also have a special 9:00am Title 1 presentation on "Helping Your Child Become a Better Reader.  I am looking forward to a great week, Cubs and looking to keep working on nothing less than your success.  Have a good night.

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy with a few announcements. On behalf of all of us here at DCES, we thank you for your involvement last week. There were many fun learning activities on campus and it was great to have so much parent involvement. Deep Creek families are the best! This week we have two additional activities for you. Tuesday morning at 10:30am we are having a volunteer training that anyone interested in volunteering can attend. Tuesday evening at 5:30pm is our monthly SAC and PTO meeting in our media center. Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy calling to remind everyone that Measurement and Music Night is Thursday evening beginning at 5:30. This is a big evening for us and we look forward to sharing all the wonderful things happening in our classrooms then celebrating with you all. Please be patient as parking can be difficult when we all come together. Also, this week is Red Ribbon week. Please make sure you have reviewed your child's report card and returned the envelope to school. Friday is our annual character parade. Please play close attention to the parameters established by your child's grade level. Each grade level participates in a unique manner.  I hope everyone has a great week. Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families this is Principal McElroy with a few reminders. Tuesday evening beginning at 5:30 is our monthly SAC/PTO meeting. We invite everyone to come hear what is happening in our school. Parents we are asking for your help in making sure your child logs into our I-Ready program every night for about 15 minutes. According to the research a total of 40 minutes for reading and 40 minutes for math each week can make a huge difference in your child's success. The first quarter ends Friday so Monday is a teacher workday. No school for students on Monday, October 12th. Thank you again for your participation in our fundraiser. Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families,
This is Principal McElroy with a few reminders for this week. Hopefully our Cub showed you their Leadership spirit stick key ring. These are to be kept on their backpacks. We will sell spirit sticks for $1.00 around the 25th of each month in honor of DCES 25th Anniversary. Also, students will have opportunities throughout the year to earn a spirit stick. If one of our Cubs wants another ring or if they lose theirs then Cubs can purchase one from the school store for $5. Thank you to PTO for supporting our Cubs. PTO is able to do these things for our Cubs because of your support of our Fall Fundraiser. It does end Thursday so thank you in advance for your support.

Our Publix Math night returns this year. Please join us with a clipboard and calculator Tuesday night from 6:00-7:00 for some family math fun.

Good afternoon to our Deep Creek family, this is assistant principal, Mr. Vernon, with announcements for our upcoming school week.  If you did not receive the message from Dr. Whitaker, Superintendent of Charlotte County Schools, we are happy to announce that our school will be open tomorrow, as we are only expecting rain from the remnants of Hurricane Erika.  This Tuesday, September 1st, we will be having our first PTO/SAC meetings of the school year, the meetings will start at 5:30pm.  This Wednesday will also mark our first day that are Family Reading Center will be open in its new location.  The new location is in our Deep Creek school library and operating times will be from 7:45 - 8:35am. Good afternoon to all of our Deep Creek Family Members.  We have had two great weeks of school and our students are doing a great job learning the rules and routines.  We are off to a great start.  I want to remind all of our Cub dads, uncles, grandfathers, or any important male role models to our children, that we have our 2nd Annual Pizza with Dads/Watch D.O.G.S night this Thursday, August 27th at 6:00pm.  Come have pizza with your Cub and enjoy a relaxing evening learning about our great Watch D.O.G.S program.  Our Family Reading Center will open the first Wednesday in September, September 2nd.  Look for flyers coming home with information on times and the new location.  Last, we invite all parents to check out our Parent Institute Link under our Title 1 Resources on the Deep Creek website.  There are daily tips and activities that will help guide towards student success.  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I will see all of our Ready, Responsible, Respectful students tomorrow morning.

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Family. This is Principal McElroy calling to say thank you for a wonderful first week. We are thrilled with our start and ready to get into our routine. If you are a parent who drops off their child, please be sure to pull through the line and not park. Parking and walking across the line tends to slow down the process and we need all students in class ready to learn by 8:30am. We are teaching our cubs to be responsible so parents will not be permitted to walk students to classes or visit classrooms without an appointment. There will be safety patrols and adults around campus to assist. It is important that our teachers use every minute of the day as academic focused time. I hope you have had a chance to review the family handbook and calendar of events in the front of your child's planner. This is an important communication tool so if not please check it out. Good evening Deep Creek families.  Thank you for registering your child in our new Cub Club extended day program. We are looking forward to our first week.  

Here are a few reminders:

-Student drop-off and pick-up will be in our cafe.  

-For their safety, please remember that morning students must be accompanied to the cafe for sign-in and an ID will be required to pick-up your child in the afternoon.

-There will be an information packet that your child will bring home Monday afternoon.  Please complete these important documents and return them on Tuesday.

Remember all Cubs should be in their classrooms ready to learn by 8:30am when our morning announcements WCUB begins. Our Kinder Cubs will begin on Wednesday morning. All Cubs should be in proper dress code and bring their Summer Slide Challenge signed form. Please make sure you have communicated how your child will go home in writing to the classroom teacher. Kinder Parent Phone Message 8/5/15

Good Evening Deep Creek Kinder Families. This is Principal McElroy welcoming you to the 2015-2016 school year. Please don't forget your child's individual appointments on Friday or Monday. Our supply list is available on our website and at Wal-Mart. Please bring your child's unlabeled supplies with you to the appointment or Open House. Tuesday night is our Kinder Open House from 5-6pm. All kinder students begin on Wednesday morning August 12th. Parents are allowed to walk their children to class the first week only. We have safety patrol leaders and adults stationed all over campus to assist. Our student dress code requires that all students are to wear shorts/skirts to the knees, shirts with sleeves, and appropriate footwear for physical activity daily.  We are looking forward the wonderful year ahead. If your child completed the summer slide challenge please return the single signed sheet to school on the first day. The celebration will be Friday, August 14th. Good Evening Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy welcoming you to the 2015-2016 school year. It is going to be a busy week at DCES so I am attempting to be proactive with this message. Our Community Expo and Open House for first through fifth grade is Thursday beginning at 4:30pm. Classrooms will only be open from 5-6pm. Our supply list is available on our website and at Wal-Mart. Please bring your supplies with you Thursday night. Postcards with your child's teacher will be mailed out on Tuesday and our Focus parent portal will be open on Thursday. Kinder parents will receive a separate message since kinder student schedules are different.
