Good afternoon Cub Families this is Assistant Principal, Mr. Vernon, calling to notify that we conducted a Code Red Drill at Deep Creek today. Per the district's request we will notify parents each time that we conduct a Code Red Drill. Once again, today's Code Red was a drill and not an emergency event. DCES Phone Call 11/11/18
Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy with a couple announcements for the coming week. Wednesday will be an exciting day here at Deep Creek. First, our family center is hosting a Cows and Cubs event from 7:15 until 8:30am. The Chick-fil-A Cow and our very own Ruggles will greet all our visitors in anticipation of our upcoming spirit night at Chick-fil-A on Tuesday, Nov. 20th. We hope you join us this Wednesday at the family center and NEXT Tuesday for our partnership with Chick-fil-A. Our Otis Fundraiser delivery is occurring on Wednesday as well. Beginning around 11:00am, you can pick up your fundraiser products. We thought you might want to come have lunch with your child and pick up your product so we have the product ready for pick up by 11:00am. We do need lots of volunteers for this fundraiser pick up and many other things so please follow this link: Sign up for DCES Volunteer Synergize Spot (http://signup.com/go/qaziuV) on @SignUpdotcom today! We thank you all for your support and look forward to another great week. At Deep Creek our Cubs are Ready, Responsible, and Respectful leaders.

Phone Message 11/4/18
Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families! This is Principal McElroy with reminders for the week. Daylight savings time ended so please make sure your clocks and alarms are set and ready for school tomorrow. We want all our Cubs in class ready to learn by 8:30am. Tuesday, November 06 is election day and there is no school for students. When, among other important decisions you will make about our County, State, and Nation, you will consider a referendum that would provide a much-needed operational millage for our schools. Because you have a personal and unique view of our school through your child’s experience, you possess daily parental information about our programs and needs. If passed, millage-dollars will be dedicated to providing a more stable and improved program of instruction for OUR children. An increase in instructional time, improvement in lagging teacher and staff wages, more effective and dynamic programming in career tech and in reading, removal of pay-for-play fees in activities and athletics, and bolstered school security are among the expected changes that will occur for OUR children at Deep Creek Elementary. Please consider the last item on the ballot carefully: the quality of Deep Creek Elementary, of our school district, and of our academic and co-curricular opportunities for children depends on our votes. All of us who live in Charlotte County share in the responsibility of providing generational school support to our children as we prepare them for their futures and our own. Thank you for listening to this message. Thank you for voting on November 06! School resumes on Wednesday. At Deep Creek our Cubs are Ready, Responsible, and Respectful leaders.

Good Afternoon Deep Creek Families. This is Principal McElroy with reminders for the next two weeks. Tuesday, October 23rd will be our last day to answer the survey question about our uniform policy. Please make sure you return the ballot by Tuesday, October 23rd. Picture retakes are also on Tuesday, October 23rd. This week begins our Red Ribbon Week that focuses on living a healthy, drug-free life. Wednesday, October 24th is wear RED day so we are encouraging our Cubs to wear any red shirt with normal uniform bottoms in a show of support. Friday, October 26th is our character parade for grades K-2 which focuses on literacy. Please check with your child's teacher for the guidelines. Report Cards will go home with students on Monday, October 29th. Some of our Cubs will be marching in the Veteran's Day parade in Punta Gorda on Saturday, Nov. 3rd. These are just a few of the exciting things happening over the next two weeks. Thank you for our support. At Deep Creek our Cubs are Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Leaders.

Good afternoon to all of our Cub Families. I have a few announcements for the upcoming week. First, we once again are overwhelmed by the support we get from our students' families. The Otis Spunkmeyer Fundraiser was a huge success as we sold over $55,000 worth of Otis Spunkmeyer products. The profits from this fundraiser assist with so many great things for our students, such as field trips, classroom materials, technology, and so much more. Thank you for your support! This Thursday, October 18th please come join us for our Enchanted Book Fair night starting at 5:30pm. Along with the Book Fair, we have special performances by Studio Seven Center, PGMS Band, and it's rumored there may be an appearance by a unicorn. PTO will be serving $5 Hot Dog combos for dinner, so come join us for a fun event. Last, a reminder than there is no school this Friday, October 19th due to our Teacher Work Day. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, I look forward to seeing our Ready, Responsible, and Respectful Cubs tomorrow morning.
